Is it a paint?

No, it is not a metal paint. It is a cold-sprayable metal composite that mainly consists of real metal.

Is it an electroplating process?

No, an electroplating process is an electrochemical process. VeroMetal® is a cold-workable metal composite that can be applied to many different types of surfaces, such as laminate flooring, melamine, wood, plastic, plaster, fibreglass, calcerous materials, pottery, terracotta, cardboard, paper, ceramics, concrete, foam, porcelain, glass, MDF and metal.

Is VeroMetal® applied in a powder coating process?

No, powder coating involves baking the coating onto the substrate. VeroMetal® is applied without heat by spraying, rolling, by hand or pouring. VeroMetal® does not need to be exposed to heat to cure.

Can VeroMetal® be used on objects outdoors?

Does VeroMetal® require specialised equipment?

No, most installers already have the required equipment, e.g. an HVLP spray system, as standard.

Is there a limit to the coating thickness?

No, VeroMetal® can be applied in any thickness you require.

How many coats are required?

It can be applied in a single spray pass.

Which substrates are not suitable to be coated?

We recommend testing new substrates. To date, we have not discovered any substrates that cannot be successfully coated.

What is the coverage for VeroMetal® when sprayed?

Obviously this depends on the operator’s skills, the substrate and the shape of the object, however 1 – 1.5 m2/kg is typical.

Is a special training course available?

Yes, we offer a special training course for installers. This is a two-day, hands-on training course where you learn how to mix, apply and finish VeroMetal® correctly.

Does VeroMetal® shrink?

No, VeroMetal® is not a metal paint; it does not shrink.

Is there really no heat involved in the process?
